You should also have great problem-solving skills and a good knowledge of the operations areas that intersect with finance. Top candidates are CPAs who have a background in public accounting with either Big 4 or regional auditing firms. We’re looking for five to seven years’ experience, preferably with some in industry. We’d love expertise in these areas:

• SEC (10k/10q/8k/S1)
• Technical accounting
• XBRL
• Stock-based compensation
• Revenue recognition
• M&A/due diligence/IPO
• Operational accounting
