RoseRyan, a ZRG company that provides on-demand finance & accounting and marketing leadership and consulting services to a multitude of companies in Silicon Valley and beyond, unveiled its new Marketing Solutions Group today, as an additional way to help high-growth and maturing companies achieve their growth goals and address skills gaps.

Since 1993, RoseRyan’s consultants, who are experts in finance & accounting and marketing with experience and expertise in high-growth companies, have seamlessly integrated with organizations for one-time projects or an ongoing purpose. The RoseRyan Marketing Solutions Group will follow this same proven framework, meeting a pressing need as companies explore how they can bring in targeted levels of marketing expertise at the right time while scaling the business.

“Early-stage companies are not yet ready to take on full-time marketing leadership or build a full marketing team on their own, yet they need to understand their position in the marketplace and develop a solid marketing strategy to take their company to the next stage,” said RoseRyan President David Roberson. “RoseRyan’s comprehensive suite of tailored marketing solutions meet a company’s exact needs, which is timely now as many companies struggle to address all their talent and skills gaps and are increasingly looking to flexible arrangements, for both cost-efficient and practical reasons, and for the level of expertise that only consultants at the top of their game can provide.”

“Whether you need a fractional or interim CMO or an entire marketing team, RoseRyan marketing consultants will become a part of your organization—to devise your marketing strategy, help your business build brand awareness, launch impactful campaigns and accelerate growth,” said Fred Ehle, Vice President of Marketing Solutions at RoseRyan.

New Marketing Solutions Address Leadership and Project Marketing Challenges

RoseRyan can be a guiding force in a company’s marketing efforts or provide active, interim leadership, or both. “We quickly get to know companies and become a part of their operations for however long they need us,” Ehle said. “Because of their experience and innate adaptability, our marketing consultants require no ramp-up time and immediately focus on the marketing goals of the company, whether we are helping to develop those goals or meet them head on.”

RoseRyan’s Marketing Solutions include interim professionals with a range of expertise in public relations, omnichannel campaign development and management, brand management, product marketing, and more. RoseRyan also brings its extensive ecosystem of partners to companies as consultants develop or lead a company’s marketing function, and manage business-critical marketing projects, including sales assessments, agency procurement, e-commerce consulting, product positioning, performance marketing and martech system selections.

“As a consulting firm that guides companies through the entire business lifecycle, we are always looking for how we can help companies in all areas, and we are incredibly excited by this new capability, to be able to fulfill companies’ entire marketing needs as they evolve,” said RoseRyan Founder and Chair Kathy Ryan. Companies with maturing marketing organizations ready for full-time, permanent leadership will benefit from RoseRyan’s tight partnership with global talent advisory firm ZRG.

Campbell, CA., October 20, 2021 – RoseRyan, a leading provider of accounting and financial professionals/solutions for a multitude of sectors, today announced that it’s on this year’s Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance (AFWA) Best Firms for Equity Leadership.

“We greatly appreciate and take pride in the distinction of being named by the Accounting and Financial Women’s Alliance as one of the best firms in our industry for equity leadership for women,” said Kathy Ryan, Founder and Chair of RoseRyan.

“We are a woman-founded company and from our start in 1993, RoseRyan has always been a workplace where females can thrive and achieve their professional goals.”

The pandemic provided RoseRyan with business emerging from unexpected directions, which enabled the company to accelerate leadership for rising women. Additionally, the accessibility of mentoring via virtual platforms was particularly important to equipping those newly minted leaders with strategies for success.

The Best Firms for Equity Leadership list is based on MOVE survey results and recognizes firms with at least 30 percent women partners and principals, as roughly a third is the widely recognized ‘tipping point’ for members of any identity group to have individual impact. The Equity Leadership list recognizes firms that have achieved that milestone through any combination of culture, programs, initiatives, and growth.

According to the Accounting MOVE Project, firms that entered the COVID-19 pandemic with established modes of remote work intended primarily to benefit women had a compelling advantage in the abrupt shift to remote work. With women leading many aspects of virtual business development, firms continued to promote women to senior leadership: this year, women comprise 32 percent of partners and principals at the firms that participate in the Accounting MOVE Project, up from 29 percent in 2020. Based on the report, women continue to make up just over half of total firm employees (55 percent).

The list, sponsored by the AFWA, is based on each year’s MOVE results. To earn a spot on the list, an employer must have both a proportionate number of women at most or all levels of management and proven success with the MOVE factors. The 2021 Accounting MOVE Project is available at the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance website https://www.afwa.org/move-project/.

About the Accounting MOVE Project

The Accounting MOVE Project is based on the MOVE methodology, developed by

research partner Wilson-Taylor Associates, Inc., which investigates the factors proven to be essential to women’s career success:

M – Money: fair pay practices;

O – Opportunity: advancement and leadership development;

V – Vital supports: work-life programs that remove barriers;

E – Entrepreneurship: operating experience for managing or business ownership

Newark, Calif., August 24, 2020—RoseRyan, a leading advisory firm that helps companies of all kinds—large and small—master their finances, has been awarded a 2020 Top Workplaces honor by The Bay Area News Group. This is the sixth year that the finance and accounting firm has made the Top 100 list.

The Top Workplaces list is based on the results of confidential employee surveys. Published yesterday in Bay Area News Group supplements found throughout the region, the Top 100 list evaluates workplace engagement based on 15 drivers.

Says Dave Roberson, CEO of RoseRyan, “At RoseRyan, we’re excited to be again on this list of winning workplaces—it reflects the positive atmosphere that we’re so proud of and springs from our strong culture. We believe that when everyone thrives, that’s when the magic happens.”

RoseRyan employees rated the firm highly for attributes such as purpose, innovation, leadership and open-mindedness. The survey’s response rate was 77%.

About the Survey

The Top 100 list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by Energage LLC, a leading provider of technology-based employee engagement tools. The anonymous survey measures several aspects of workplace culture, including alignment, execution and connection.

Says Eric Rubino, Energage CEO, “In times of great change, it is more important than ever to maintain a connection among employees.”

Roberson adds that RoseRyan’s strong culture, based on the values identified 10 years ago, has allowed the firm to quickly adapt to the coronavirus crisis. The firm “didn’t miss a beat” when the shelter-in-place orders happened.

According to Roberson, RoseRyan’s tight culture, regular communication channels, and robust tech stack helped the firm quickly adjust to working and managing remotely. Going forward, he adds, the RoseRyan culture will continue to sustain the advisory firm as it weathers the new normal.

Founder Kathy Ryan Remains Chair, Vice President Roberson Named CEO

Newark, Calif., December 3, 2019 — One year after joining RoseRyan as Vice President, David “Dave” Roberson will lead RoseRyan as CEO effective January 1. Roberson, a seasoned executive who led Hitachi Data Systems as CEO, is also the chief executive of RoseRyan subsidiary Kukuza Associates.

Kathy Ryan will transition from CEO to Chair while retaining ownership of the Silicon Valley finance and accounting consulting firm she co-founded 26 years ago.

In addition, Ryan will continue to work with clients in the field, play a large role in RoseRyan’s strategic planning and investments, and serve as Director of Bizinta, a SaaS company spun out of RoseRyan that provides a business management solution to consulting firms.

Says Ryan about the change, “Dave is a strong leader — he’s ready to lead RoseRyan as we reach for the next stage of growth, and he’s the right person to take us there. He’s extremely well versed in what makes RoseRyan unique and has a strong foundation to make it happen.”

Adds Ryan, “I’m keen to hand Dave the reins, and for RoseRyan clients, this shift in leadership roles will be seamless, given how closely we’ve worked together since Dave became part of the team.”

The Right C-suite Talent at the Right Time for RoseRyan

Roberson joined RoseRyan last January as Vice President after leading RoseRyan’s execution of the Transition Services Agreement in DigiCert’s purchase of Symantec’s web security business—RoseRyan’s largest engagement to date. In March, when RoseRyan launched Kukuza Associates, a new subsidiary that concentrates solely on the cannabis market, Roberson was named its CEO, a role he retains.

“I’m excited to lead the next chapter of RoseRyan. Our outstanding reputation, strong client base of happy, repeat customers who refer us to others, along with our defined values, are building blocks for more success,” says Roberson.

He continues, “We’ll be propelling growth across the firm’s solution areas, and we’re well positioned, given the meaningful culture and brand that Kathy and the team have created and fostered over the years. What continues to impress me about RoseRyan is its clear strengths as well as the can-do attitudes and operational savviness that our consultants bring to every engagement. The value delivered to clients is striking.”

During his time at RoseRyan, Roberson has overseen the firm’s broad array of finance and accounting solutions. Part of this oversight included developing its “rapid diagnostic” concept, which involves quickly assessing a company’s financial readiness for growth and scaling. The diagnostic tool was launched by Kukuza and then rolled out in September by RoseRyan’s Emerging Growth area.

Possessing extensive consulting and board experience as well as a law degree, Roberson was a senior vice president at HP and worked at Hitachi for 26 years. He likes to joke that he has held every C-suite title that exists.

Currently chairman of the board of Push Technology, a global API management company, he also enjoys mentoring a wide range of professionals, from budding managers to CEOs, in his free time.

Is your startup sailing ahead or heading for a rude awakening?

This rapid review by Silicon Valley experts scores your finance function’s readiness

Newark, Calif., September 9, 2019—Drawing upon 25 years of expertise guiding Silicon Valley startups, the new RoseRyan Rapid Diagnostic for Emerging Growth is now available to startups interested in gauging their financial readiness for scaling.

As an interactive session with RoseRyan, the diagnostic scores companies on their overall financial health. The rapid review is simple yet comprehensive, providing emerging growth companies with a dashboard of results. It involves a tech-enabled questionnaire and scoring system to evaluate if the startup has what’s needed to support growth, achieve future milestones and satisfy investors.

Offered on a complimentary basis during its introductory period, the assessment provides actionable insights from an award-winning finance and accounting consultancy that has fueled the success of hundreds of startups and knows what investors want.

RoseRyan: Helping Startups Avoid Drama Since 1993

Says Tracey Hashiguchi, Head of Emerging Growth Solutions at RoseRyan, “Startups operate at lightning speed with big goals and visions. Yet their own finance operations often come up short, leaving them bereft of timely, accurate information. The result? We see it all the time: They’re flying blind and basing decisions on faulty assumptions.

“This diagnostic quickly shines a light on what’s not going to cut it come go-time,” she adds. “If your VC-backed company is barreling toward a milestone—like a revenue goal or a new funding round—you don’t want to get held up by a missing system or process. These cost a lot to fix at the last minute, and we know that since we regularly do this emergency work.”

Hashiguchi comments, “Companies that have all the components of a solid financial foundation have a huge advantage—this new RoseRyan diagnostic is the perfect vehicle for getting a handle on your company’s financial capacity for liftoff.”

Quickly Assessing 16 Key Business & Finance Areas for Scaling

During the RoseRyan Rapid Diagnostic for Emerging Growth, startups are guided through an evaluation of 16 key finance and operational areas, which are each rated on a 1 to 5 scale. The dialogue covers the most essential areas of the startup related to accounting and finance, yielding a condensed view of the company’s ability to sustain growth.

At the end of the assessment, companies receive a scorecard with an overall score. Topics assessed include the company’s financial systems and processes as well as growth plans, operations, competition, debt, partners and supply chain.

Benefits to Fast-Moving Startup Companies

The RoseRyan Rapid Diagnostic for Emerging Growth benefits any startup that wants to determine where it stands on a host of finance fundamentals and receive actionable advice.

Notes Kathy Ryan, the CEO and founder of RoseRyan, “This easy, interactive exercise for entrepreneurs, owners and C-suite leaders offers visibility into what is really going on in the business. It’s insight from a team that expertly gets companies investor-ready and has navigated hundreds of startups through all sorts of scenarios since 1993.”

The new tool’s benefits include:

  • Rapid assessment of the startup’s financial and operational health—so companies can take action, to fill any gaps and prepare for growth
  • Identification of the critical finance and operational issues and risks that could slow down or endanger the startup
  • Feedback to company leaders on how far they’ve come and what’s necessary to get to the next stage
  • A scorecard that reveals what the startup needs to shore up for the next stage of growth.

Ryan emphasizes, “Startups get a strategic snapshot, so they can easily prioritize what needs to get addressed.”
